DB Schenker anounced on August 28, 2008 that it reorganized its contract logistics offers. In the future a special team of 1,000 employees at Schenker High Tech Logistics will focus on optimally meeting the needs of customers in the high-tech, consumer electronics, semiconductor and renewable energies businesses. The team will operate out of 32 locations in nine European countries and will work closely with the local DB Schenker national companies.

The activities in the core areas of production supply, vendor managed inventory and reverse logistics are managed by a joint team of executives consisting of the members of the senior management of Schenker Industrial Logistics GmbH, Kelsterbach, and Schenker B.V., Ridderkerk, the Netherlands.

Schenker High Tech Logistics is active for numerous renowned clients and offers its European customers over 250,000 square meters of special logistics space that has been designed for high-tech solutions.

The new unit was created by bringing together Schenker Industrial Logistics GmbH, whose remaining shares were acquired recently by Schenker AG from Siemens AG, and former European activities of BAX Global.
