CNSC imposes heavy penalties for ECTN falsification 2009-01-29 ¿ÀÀü 10:03:57

The Cameroon National Shippers Council (CNCC) announced much heavier penalties for Electronic Tracking Notes (ECTN) falsification.

All shippers and shipping lines currently pay ECTN fees.

Mbappe Penda, General Manager of the CNCC, said that all shippers and shipping lines will be punished if ECTN procedures are not followed as per Ministerial Decree no. 00557/MINT, dated July 11th, 2006, and Decree no. 000289/MINT, dated March 5th, 2007).

Offending shippers will be penalized with ECTN fees increased by 100%, while offending shipping lines will be fined CFA 1 million per offense.

The new measures take effect February 1st, 2009.
