Busan Port Authority (BPA) agreed on establishing a framework for cooperation and mutual exchanges with Algeciras Bay Port Authority on December 3rd, 2008.
BPA signed the MoU with Algeciras Bay Port Authority on December 3rd at the Comodo Hotel in Busan, Korea with more than 40 people including Ki-Tae Roh, President of BPA and Mr. Manuel Morón Ledro, Chairman of the Port Authority of Algeciras Bay participating.
This agreement includes information exchange and cooperation regarding port infrastructure development, port environment, safety and security, and port operation.
As the largest port in Spain, Algeciras Bay Port handles 12.5% of total cargo handled in Spain and is the 5th busiest port in Northern Europe as the gateway connecting Africa and the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Hanjin Shipping won a ticket to operate the 3rd container terminal at Algeciras Bay Port last February and will embark on the terminal operation in late 2010.
BPA is also invited by Algeciras Bay Port to take part in the Investment Roadshow hosted by the Spanish port.
