Maersk Line recently named a new large containership in Ulsan, South Korea.

Mrs. Sang Hee Kim, wife of Mr. Kyu Sun Park, President of Maersk Korea Ltd., named the container vessel "Maersk Savannah" on October 13th, 2008.

The Maersk Savannah is the last in a series of five 8,400 TEU container vessels built by Hyundai Heavy Industries for shipowner Maersk Ship Management B.V. in the Netherlands.

The vessel has a length of 334 meters, and a capacity of 8,400 TEU with 700 reefer containers. It will be commanded by Captain A. M. Van Der Wurff with Mr. F. A. Vonk as Chief Engineer. It will be deployed in Maersk Line's China - Mediterranean route.
