OOCL has announced the appointment of Mr. Andy Tung as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the OOCL Group, effective January 1, 2009.
“I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Tung as COO of the OOCL Group. Andy has a comprehensive understanding of OOCL’s business and its customers. I am confident he will bring strong leadership to the company and insightful guidance to our management team,” said OOCL Chief Executive Officer Philip Chow.
Mr. Tung is currently Director of Corporate Planning and Marketing, a position he has held since 2006. He is also Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Committee on Maritime Transport. Prior to 2006, Mr. Tung was Chief Operating Officer of Hong Kong Dragon Airlines. Mr. Tung also worked for OOCL in various management capacities between 1993 and 1999, including the Refrigerated Commodities Trade Department from 1995-98.
Mr. Tung holds a Bachelor degree from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University. He is married with three children.
