Maersk Line announced that it added an additional vessel to the rotation of the SAMBA service, which covers the trade from the East Coast of South America to the Middle East.

It said that these changes will allow it to improve the schedule reliability and to run the vessels at an optimal speed, providing a more environmentally friendly transport due to reduced emissions. By adding a vessel, it will increase the transit time by an average of four days.

The first vessel on the new schedule will be the Maersk Jakarta with an estimated time of arrival at the Suez Canal on November 5, 2008.

The rotation of the service will be unchanged: Itajai (Brazil) - Paranagua (Brazil) - Rio Grande (Brazil) - Santos (Brazil) - Salalah (Oman) - Jebel Ali (UAE) - Algeciras (Spain) - Dakar (Senegal) - Vitoria (Brazil)
