Grand China Shipping (Yantai) Co. Ltd. (GCS), the liner shipping arm of Grand China Logistics (GCL), has launched three weekly services connecting Shanghai to Japan, two of which are in co-operation with Shanghai Hai Hua Shipping Co (Hasco):

Shanghai-Japan STX service (Tokyo, Yokohama), using the GCL-chartered 704 teu O.M. IMBRIUM (84860)
Shanghai-Japan SNS service (Nagoya, Yokkaichi), using the GCL-chartered 990 TEU WARNOW TROUT (84861) - Hasco takes slots on this loop.

Shanghai-Japan SKS service (Osaka, Kobe), through slot buying on the relevant Hasco shuttle using the Hasco-chartered 698 TEU WMS AMSTERDAM (8491).

GCL is now one of the carriers stepping in to cater for cargoes previously handled by the bankrupt SYMS.
GCL is controlled by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Hainan Province and is managed by Hainan Airline Group. It has taken control of Tianjin Marine Shipping Co. Ltd. (TMSC) and is eyeing SITC.
