Amid California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger visiting Korea, Busan Port Authority (BPA) and California Port Authority (CAPA) joined hands to cooperate with each other. BPA announced that it signed an MOU with CAPA to facilitate cooperation on ports on September 15.

The MOU signed by both the actor-turned-governor and BPA president is expected to contribute to expanding trade volume and cooperation for economic development. Information exchanges in the arena of human resource education, infrastructure, and water-friendly area development are also anticipated to follow.

CAPA has 11 port members, including LA Port and Long Beach Port, which are the number one and the number two ports in the U.S.A. in terms of throughput, respectively.

CAPA officials boarded a Busan Port guide ship to look around Busan Port after being briefed about Busan Port by BPA officials.
