Grand Alliance (GA) enhanced its service between the Mediterranean and Asia (EUM) to cater to customer needs.
Valencia was added as a port of call in the service, and the enhanced service began in the second week of August 2008 (Week 33).
Port rotation for the enhanced Mediterranean service is now as follows:
Busan - Shanghai - Ningbo - Shekou - Hong Kong - Singapore - Port Klang - Jeddah - Damietta - Genoa - Fos - Barcelona - Valencia - Damietta - Singapore - Hong Kong - Busan.
Eight vessels having a capacity of approximately 6,000 TEU each have been deployed in the service.
Formed in 1998 Grand Alliance members include Hapag-Lloyd (Germany), MISC Berhad (Malaysia), NYK (Japan), and OOCL (Hong Kong).
